Hi Mari,
really enjoy your beautiful artwork. I had a chance this morning to read the catalog that was at the Steinbeck Equine Clinic lobby while I waited to pay for the work that was done on my horse. I was tickled to see that you went to the same university as I (San Jose State)and also it was a fun thing to hear that you did an exchange to Sheffield Polytechnic as I did. I have never met another person since I have been out of college (1986)that did the exchange. I would love to talk about it one day with you. It was a wonderful experience for me all those years back.

Love the work!,

These portraits are universal in appeal...her intimacy with the subjects combines with an old masters technique to present animals with dignity, spirit and souls. One of the best exhibits Crocker has presented.

This is not to be missed.

I saw Mari Kloeppel's art work 5 times already at the Crocker Museum and never tire of it. It is so refreshing after all these years to have someone so tallented paint like the old masters such as Da' Vinci and Michael Angelo. She truley has a god given talent and can both see and reveal in her paintings what the average eye can not see. I look forward to see what she has in store for us in the furture.

Yesterday (April 4th 2009) I experienced a visual feast; one that I will not forget. Such a pleasure and a marvel it was for me to see Mari's amazing works on exhibition at the Crocker. She doesn't miss a hair. The two cranes look like they can fly right out of the painting. Tulip, the rabbit is there too and so realistic & playful. I am truely in awe of her work and as an art major from way back when, I am humbled at her masterful ability to make it all look so real and beautiful at the same time. What an honor to see her horses and know she painted them with so much love and affection. It truely shows through in her paintings.

I completely enjoyed Mari's exhibit at the Crocker Art Museum. My only disappointment is that the show is ending. I wish it would continue so I could encourage more horse friends to come and view her work. When these types of shows visit the Crocker, we really should put the word out to the local horse publications. Mari's work is paradise to the horse lover!

MK's paintings are generating admiring comments from viewers at the Crocker Art Museum. Can anyone send me bibliographic citations on her & her work? I'd love to draw up a list for Crocker patrons. Thanks

We just return from seeing Mari's work at the Crocker Museum in Sacramento and were very moved by the beauty of her art. This is a terrific article to read after having viewed her work.

It's so impressive to be able to stand close to those paintings and see the incredible detail, the muscles, the soft gentle eyes and there is a sense of fullness as if they were painted from the inside and are sharing a story - their personality.

Thank you for these great paintings.
