ALEXANDRA HEDISON – NEW WORKS & VIDEO INTERVIEW
Alexandra Hedison is moving on and moving up. When we first met Alex two years ago she was coming off a bad break-up with Ellen DeGeneres. At the time she was backing away from acting and committing to her fine art photography. The result of that focus was the Rebuilding Series, which helped her rebuild her own life and really establish her photography career. Now she’s back! She is acting again, starring in Showtime’s hit series “The L Word,” and getting ready to open a new photography exhibit in London. She is headlining the Concrete and Glass show in London’s trendy East End. More than a hundred artists and musicians are coming together for the splashy event. Her exhibit will then travel to New York this fall, and Los Angeles next year. For more on Alex’s new stuff check out her on line video and the new issue of ARTWORKS Magazine. Subscibe now!

Very enchanting and mystical work. The deeper meanings unfold as you allow yourself time to reflect. How nature can help us all heal. Extremely moving and motivational at the same time. Very calming and you can almost hear the spirits concealed within the forest speaking to you.
Well done again superb work and wish you all the very best in all you do.
An admirer of your work from Bonnie Scotland.
Hope to meet you one day and show you some of my work.
Keep up the awesome work. Be happy always.

Alexandra,
Your work is profoundly moving. Your work has been so instrumental in healing myself, & your comment about us being finite creatures in Ithaka’s infinite space is absolutely true. We are but a small microcosm of the great natural world – and Ithaka stands testament to that. It takes us through a exploratory journey for self-discovery, and universal truth. It nurtures our soul and gives us reason to constantly evualuate and re-evaluate our assets and faults to become better and more humbling individuals in this self-absorbed world. Thank you!… If you are ever looking for volunteers, I would love to be a part of that experience.
Alexandra, your work is deeply profounding. I found myself really immersed in your Ithaka images as they really felt like a window to my soul. As in the real poem – your “Ithaka” is finding purpose in your life, through the vast unknown, whether it is an experience or a journey into transcendance. Thank you for giving us something honest, humbling and absolutely beautiful. It helps me day after day when I need to nurture my soul.
My headache is now gone. Thanks for the tranquility – something my first graders couldn’t provide me in school today. You are very talented.
Come to Portugal! I think you will find out amazing spots to have another theme for a new work. I did’nt know you were a photographer, but it is quite interesting how between images you transmite your thoughts. Has it was written by someone “one image worths more than one thousand words”….something like that!! Hope your work come to my country for i have the opportunity to see it!
Alexandra, I live in Landes Sud Ouest France reknowned for our forests, recently during a tempest we lost 60% of our beautiful havens. I believe the earth is reclaiming her own, I am bereft to lose my paradise yet know the new plantations will bring with them new life. For me this is very significant of fragility and stregnth, the new plantaions will use up more CO2 thus aiding the earth.
Ithaka struck home to me in a way I have no words for, for this I thank you.
Warm regards Annie
Your work has been an epiphany for me I wonder if you read these comments and know that you are appreciated….I hope you do.

Ms. Hedison, YOU are a beautiful human-being, both inside and out. God bless you. Much love.
Hi Alex, I saw your Ithaka exhibit at Frank Pictures at Bergemot Station in Santa Monica. I stood there looking intently into the “forrest” – Practising mindfulness,I gazed through the space between the trees into the glowing yellow light – where the soul connects with God. I admire your tenacity in going for your dreams and sharing it with us.
Hi Alex,
I love pictures and last year I was traveling so much everywhere. World is so beautiful. I made lot of pictures and now I have some exhibitions in Prague. When you found that love photographed?

hola,
Pienso que son buenas fotos, pero no tiene mas ciencia, que una buena camara y la simple naturaleza, que de por si hace que una foto parezca maravillosa.
Siento la critica y mas porque sea en español.
Como actriz, pienso que eres fantastica.

I love
I’m an ordinary person with an ordinary life that lives in an ordinary city…
Not special at all… maybe lost… definitely looking for the truth.
Don´t know how and why, I face your work at your internet site that links to this one.
Three main blocks with tree main themes which are vital steps for the real life journey.
That is how I call your work. You’re seeking what you are, looking apparently outside of you, penetrating even more deeply on your inner being.
Artist’s mission is what you do through your photos and your little raw words so meaningful.
I wish that Ithaka’s appeal remains alive on you… I believe that yell is the life beat embraced by the true wisdom of ourselves.
Thanks!
Lisbon, Portugal
Alexandra:
Your Ithaka pictures are extraordinary! It doesn’t hurt that I love Washington state, and have visited there a few times. Last summer, I went up to North Cascades and Mount Baker. Very different landscapes from the Olympic, but worth the while. You mentioned that the forest was not simply a living thing, but also a conscious entity, watching you as you explored its depths. And it seemed truly alive in your photos. I loved the variety in each of the exhibits; at one place, it looked as if the scenes were viewed through the window in a house; at another, from inside a tree- inside the forest, itself! Even looking at them from a website, I felt as if I was there. Great work! Do you have a particular place(s) in mind for your next project?
On a different subject, I wanted a happy ending for Dylena! Who knows? Maybe there’s hope, yet!
All the best,
J.E. Jones, Mesa, AZ
Alexandra:
One other thing! Have you seen Ken Burns’ documentary about the national parks? The part about John Muir, his life and writings reminded me a lot of Ithaka. Muir also had the sense that nature is not only alive, but that each part of it makes journeys of its own- the flowers, the rocks, and the streams. Even the trees, he wrote,”travel in the ordinary sense. They make many journeys..our own little journeys, away and back again, are only little more than tree- wavings.”
Thanks again,
J.E. Jones
